After moving 18 times in their 29-year marriage, William and Dana Wong have finally settled into their “perfect home” in the gated Bella Fiore neighborhood built by Pardee Homes on The Falls Golf Course at Lake Las Vegas Resort.

“This is where we’re staying,” said Dana, who has had homes all over the map from Texas, Connecticut, Hawaii and Palm Springs, to Shanghai and Hong Kong, where William had established a cancer center before retiring and moving to Southern Nevada.

The Wongs, who were married in Las Vegas in July 1980, realized they wanted to return permanently after seeing Lake Las Vegas in the mid-90s.

“We could have lived anywhere, but our goal was to come back to Lake Las Vegas,” said Dana, who was with AT&T for 20 years and now is director of operations in the West for NEC. Although she often commutes to her offices in California, Dana and her husband have set up offices in the second floor casita of their Plan Two X in Bella Fiore.

William points out the imposing mountain formation that serves as a backdrop to their backyard overlooking the golf course. “It is in the shape of a tiger, which, according to feng shui, is a very protective symbol,” he said.

A gourmet Chinese cook, William said their home’s kitchen is “what I always wanted.” With General Electric Monogram® appliances, wok burners and warming lights, the spacious kitchen was “made for cooking,” he said.

“We waited a lifetime for this house, and found that Pardee built our perfect home in the place we wanted to live,” Dana said. A former dancer, Dana volunteers her time assisting ballerinas recovering from injuries in the home’s studio area. The Wongs also needed room for Dana’s mother Teresa, who lives with them, as well as their dog Garth.

“And we love to walk,” Dana said.  “It would be hard to find a more beautiful area than Lake Las Vegas for walking.”
