Over a Decade of Green Building
We've been building green, energy-efficient homes longer than most and have built more than 24 LivingSmart and 14 California Green Builder-certified neighborhoods to date. Take a look.
- 1998: Helped pioneer the EPA's Energy Star® program, building energy-efficient homes that exceeded code by 15% or more
- 1998: Built first Energy Star® neighborhood
- 2001: Launched our own LivingSmart program with dozens of energy-related and sustainable features and options
- 2001: Led the industry as one of the first production homebuilders to feature solar electric power systems
- 2001: Became the country's first multi-regional builder to build only Energy Star® homes
- 2004: Added WaterSmart to our LivingSmart program in response to water shortages
- 2004: Built the Ultimate Family Home, a "Zero Energy Home" showcased in the International Builders Show
- 2005: Participated in ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition prgram, building a LivingSmart home for a family in need
- 2006: Named by the EPA as an Energy Star® Partner of the Year for the fourth year running
- 2007: Built and donated children's playouse to the National Building Museum to teach green building practices to future generations
- 2009: Pledged our 100% commitment to build LivingSmart homes in future developments
